The Barclays Singapore Open 2009 was held on Sentosa Island from the 29th October to the 1st November. It was played on the Sentosa Golf Club's championship course, The Serapong. The purse/prize money was $ 5 million USD and is the largest for a national open in Asia. This year the tournament attracted the likes of Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Ian Poulter, Darren Clarke, Thomas Bjorn, Graeme McDowell and Michael Campbell amongst others. We got some complimentary tickets to watch the golf, so we went on the final day. We had a great time watching the pros in action and stayed till the end to see Ian Poulter win the tournament and the $ 833,330.00 USD first prize............nice pay for a few days of "work"!
